LUTZ – Hildamae Aileen. Nov. 24, 1944 – Jan. 11, 2018. 73 years old.
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Hildamae Lutz of Penticton, B.C.
She passed away peacefully on Thursday Jan.11, 2018 at the Penticton Regional Hospital after a courageous 14 year battle with cancer.
Hildamae grew up in Saskatchewan and married Carl Lutz in 1962. They operated a grain farm near Melville, SK, while raising their family. After their youngest children, twins Crystal and Emerald were born, they bought a travel trailer and enjoyed camping throughout Western Canada. After many camping trips to British Columbia, they moved their family to Osoyoos, B.C. in 1989.
Hildamae spent many years working as a care aide at Sunnybank Centre in Oliver, B.C. and enjoyed going for coffee with friends and family.
After she retired, she moved back to Melville, SK where she spent her time with her dog, Emily, visiting with friends and family.
Hildamae always maintained a strong faith in the Lord, spending many hours devoted to Bible study. She loved doing crafts such as knitting, crocheting, needle point, sewing, gardening, and painting. Her greatest strength was her positive friendly attitude, which shone through during her battle with cancer as she always had a gift of genuine internal peace and happiness.
She will be fondly remembered by her loving family including daughters, Carlene “Susie” Blondeau, Trish Lutz (Sean Peterson), and Emerald Lutz; grandchildren Laura Blondeau, James Blondeau, Raylene Blondeau, and Kaylee Lutz-Gingras as well as her siblings; Cathy Balaberda (Edwin Balaberda), Grace Binst, and Lois Perepelitz.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louis “Bud” Blenkin and Gladys Blenkin; husband Carl Lutz; and daughter, Crystal Lutz.
