REY – Edward, of Melville, SK, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27 , 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville at the age of 76 years.
Edward Rey was born on April 28, 1941 in Melville, SK to Sophie and Anton Rey.
Ed received his education at St. Henry’s School in Melville. He was employed with the City of Melville in the Public Works Department for many years and retired early due to failing health issues.
Ed was a very friendly and helpful person, who enjoyed conversing with and being around people. For many years he grew a large and beautiful garden, full of vegetables and dahlias. He lived in a small house he grew up in, and kept it immaculately neat and clean.
After surgeries on his knees, he could not get out much, but enjoyed good food, TV, and especially watching western movies. Ed also took an avid interest in reading and studying the Bible. What he learned gave him hope and comfort of a better future.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Sophie; and brother, Walter.
He is survived by his four sisters, Helen of Toronto, ON, Bernice of Prince George, B.C., Marjorie (Bill) of 100 Mile House, B.C. and Marianne of Toronto, ON.
Memorial service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Melville with John Ramm officiating.
Arrangements were by Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Care, Melville.
