Julianna “Julia” Molnar of St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, wife of the late Edward Molnar, entered her eternal rest at St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 with family at her side, at the age of 91 years.
Julianna was born on June 24, 1925 in the Oak Hill District of Saskatchewan to Frank and Martha (nee Nagy) Holhoyi.
Julia, known to family and friends, received her education at Oak Hill School. Julia, often with her sister, Martha, helped her parents on the family farm. Later Julia worked at Swift’s Hatchery for a while.
On Oct. 17, 1950 Julia was united in marriage to Edward Molnar. The couple farmed in the Banner Hall district and were blessed with eight children. While helping Ed with the farm work, she grew a huge garden to make sure everyone was well fed. Mom was known for her cooking and baking, especially for her homemade buns and cabbage rolls. She hosted a full house on Boxing Day for years, sledding and card games. Julia was a faithful member of St. Henry’s Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed attending the pilgrimage and camp at Rama with her sisters, as well attending service at Kaposvar as long as her health permitted.
Predeceased by her husband, Edward; father, Frank; mother, Martha; grandson, Mathew Molnar; granddaughter, Dorothy Mulvena; brothers, Elmer, and Joseph in infancy, Donavan, Raymond and Daniel; sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret and Rose; brothers-in-law, Frank, Ted, Harold, Charlie and Emil; as well as her extended brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Julianna leaves to cherish her memory and sadly missed by her sons, Barry, Murray, Paul (Leona) and Randy (Cheryl); daughters, Janice (Jim) Grimes, Peggy (Gregg) Kawecki, Noella (Michael) Mulvena and Patt (Darwin) Waldbauer; grandchildren, Chris (Pam) Grimes, Rob (Tricia) Grimes, Douglas Molnar, Tabatha Molnar, Jordon (Katherine) Kawecki, Chelsea (Mitch) Kawecki, Jason (Jina) Molnar, Shantel Molnar, Candice (Dean) Becker, Shane (Jeanne) Molnar, Zachary Mulvena, MacKenzie Mulvena, Vanessa Mulvena, Roseanne Mulvena, Andrew Mulvena and Connor Waldbauer; great- grandchildren, Will Molnar, Cheyenne and Kylie Grimes, Nixon and Mannox Becker and Cassidy Grimes; sisters, Agnes Molnar, Martha Molnar, Irene Holhoyi, Francis Novak and Marion Holhoyi; brother-in-law, Mike (Joyce) Molnar; sister-in-law, Violet Holhoyi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements were by Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Services, Melville.
