Les Walchuk, age 72, resident of Thunder Bay, Ont. passed away peacefully June 2, 2016 at TBRHSC with family and friends by his side.
Born Sept. 29, 1943 in Fort William to Karl and Rose Walchuk. He attended St. Martin’s and Selkirk CVI graduating from Grade 12. He was employed at CIBC, MacDonald’s Consolidated and Great Lakes Paper Co., retiring in 2002 as a pulp tester after 27 years of service.
Les was a member of the ACT/UCT for 45 years being an active member up until March 2016.
Les enjoyed traveling, especially to Western Canada to visit family and friends in Melville, Sask. and his favourite Auntie Peggy in Winnipeg, who was at his bedside, along with her daughter Wendy from Edmonton when he passed away.
Les’ grandparents, John and Lily Walchuk and Mr. and Mrs. Peciak, were residents of Melville, Sask.
