GROSSE — Elsie “Ida”, July 9, 1925 – April 23, 2016.
Ida passed away peacefully at Echo Lodge in Fort Qu’Appelle. Ida was born in Melville the oldest of five children.
She is predeceased by her mother, Sophie Grosse (nee Voelpel, in Canada Felpel); father, John Henry Grosse; son, Timothy Ellis Cummins; brothers, Fred, Erwin and Allan; and sister, Dorothea Slack.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Lee Bradford (nee Cummins); two sons, Randy Lewis Cummins and Warren Robert Cummins; her aunt, Pauline Grosse of Saskatoon; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She leaves members of her extended family: Audrey Slack, Sylvia Cummins, Sharon Cummins, Susan McClung and many other family and friends.
A special thank you to Jayne Whyte for her kindness, compassion, understanding and love she gave to our mother. Ida will be missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 25 in St. Andrew’s United Church, 194 Bay Ave. South, Fort Qu`Appelle at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
Internment at the Melville Cemetery will follow the luncheon, about 2 p.m. In lieu of floral tributes, donations if desired, may be given to Intercultural Grandmothers United by cheque, payable to University of Regina memo IGU Ida Grosse or to Kairos Canada on line website.
