On October 1, 2015, a lone male wearing a disguise entered the Kelliher Credit Union in Kelliher, SK. armed with a firearm and demanded cash. The suspect was provided with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. No employees were physically hurt.

On Monday, May 2, 2016, a 26 year old male from Regina who was already in custody on other charges appeared in Melville Provincial Court to face charges in relation to this investigation.

Evan James Blight, 27, of Regina, Saskatchewan is charged with:

– Robbery with a Firearm, section 344(1)(a.1) of the Criminal Code;
– Disguise with Intent, section 351(2) of the Criminal Code;
– 4 counts of Pointing a Firearm, section 87 of the Criminal Code;
– Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, section 90 of the Criminal Code
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, section 88 of the Criminal Code.

Evan Blight was remanded back into custody and will be making his next court appearance on May 16, 2016 in Melville Provincial Court in Melville, SK.
