At 6:30 a.m. Carlyle RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision approximately 5 kilometers south of the Village of Kenosee Lake on Highway #9. A tractor trailer unit hauling grain overturned and entered a slough.

The lone 61-year-old male driver of the vehicle from Spy Hill, Sk. was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two pickup trucks stopped to assist the tractor trailer unit and a separate tractor trailer unit lost control on the roads and struck the two empty trucks. No one was injured as a result of this separate collision. The road was blocked for a period of time while the scene was cleared, but it has since re-opened.

There was sleet/snow falling at the time the collision occurred. The Ministry of Transport assisted members with keeping the roads salted and plowed and the Carlyle Fire Department assisted in directing traffic away from the scene. A local farmer also assisted by emptying and hauling away the grain from the scene.
