Date of Birth: August 11, 1945

COOPER – Brian. Jack and Vivian Cooper brought Brian into the world on Aug. 11, 1945, in Lethbridge, Alta. Over the next seven years, Brian’s brothers, Bob and Lorne, were born. They grew up on the family farm at Jack’s Junction Service. He enjoyed trapping muskrats, biking, climbing trees and spending his summers with his cousins.
Brian participated in many sports, including baseball for Waldron teams and curling with the 4-H. However, his main love was playing hockey, and he spent many hours skating and perfecting his shot.
At a young age, Brian began working on the farm and helping with the family service station. This was the beginning of many successful work endeavors. Some of his accomplishments include working on projects at K1 Potash Mine, Gardiner Dam, Churchill Mine and the Red River Floodway in Winnipeg. He was most proud of his work on the construction of the #1 Highway through Medicine Hat, Alta. as a Special Project Manager.
The highlight of Brian’s life was when he met and married Sharon Bearinger. Together, they moved back to the Waldron area to start a family farm of their own. He was very supportive and always proud of his daughters, Lynn Anne and Kathy, who he fondly nicknamed “Spunk” and “Goomer.”
While farming in the district, he became a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool delegate. During this time, he was instrumental in bringing the current Inland Terminal to Waldron.
After retiring from the farm, he launched a successful insurance brokerage in Spruce Grove, Alta. and subsequently in Rosthern, Sask.
For the last nine years, Brian fulfilled his dreams of spending the winter months in Mexico with Sharon, where they enjoyed fun RV adventures with their many friends.
