HOLHOYI – Raymond Holhoyi of Melville, Sask., entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 80 years.
Raymond was born on Sept. 30, 1935 at Melville, Sask., a son to Frank and Martha (nee Nagy) Holhoyi. Raymond received his education at Oak Hill School in the country and St. Henry’s School in Melville. After receiving his education, Ray started his employment with the CNR, first as a brakeman, then engineer, until his retirement. While working on the railroad he helped his father and brother Danny with the farming operation. Ray enjoyed his retirement, golfing, fishing, playing cards with family and friends, travelling with Alfred McKay and George Gulash and telling jokes.
Ray was very dedicated to St. Henry’s Church and would find him in most cases, in the same pew with his brother, Danny.
Predeceased by his father, Frank; mother, Martha; sisters, Beth Meckling, Margaret Zinzac and Rose Holhoyi; brothers, Donavan Holhoyi and Elmer and Joseph in infancy; brothers-in-law, Emil Zinzac, Charlie Meckling, Ed Molnar, Ted Molnar, Frank Molnar and Harold Novak.
Ray leaves to cherish his memory and sadly missed by his siblings: sisters, Agnes Molnar, Julia Molnar, Martha Molnar, Irene Holhoyi, Francis Novak and Marion Holhoyi; brother, Daniel Holhoyi; sister-in-law, Violet Holhoyi; Godchild, Trevor Stoyko; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements were by Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Care, Melville.
