The Carlyle RCMP and the RCMP Major Crime Unit South are asking for the public’s assistance with an ongoing investigation into the suspicious death of a 40-year-old woman who was located deceased in a structure fire on July 28, 2010.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., Redvers Fire Department responded to a complaint of a structure fire on an acreage located just east of Redvers, Saskatchewan, along Highway #13.  Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire and when they entered the shed they discovered the body of a deceased female.  Carlyle RCMP were called to the scene and began an investigation along with investigators from the RCMP Major Crime Unit South, and the Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Section.  An autopsy was conducted and the identity of the deceased confirmed to be a 40-year-old female resident of the RM of Antler.  Her family was notified of her death and Victims Services were made available.

Investigators are hoping to speak to anyone who was travelling along Highway #13 between 7:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on July 28, 2010.  As well, anyone travelling in the area who may have taken video or photos at the time of the fire is asked to contact police.  Attached are two photos of this stretch of Highway #13:  one facing east, one facing west.  Investigators hope these photos assist people who were in the area at the time recall the location.
