On Monday October 5, 2015 at 10:45 p.m. Indian Head and Montmartre RCMP responded to a single vehicle semi-tractor trailer unit collision on Highway # 1 east of Wolseley, Saskatchewan.  A full semi-tractor unit livestock trailer carrying two week old pigs swerved to avoid a Moose causing it to loose control and roll onto its side in the ditch.

The impact from the collision caused the livestock trailer to break open allowing numerous pigs to escape onto the highway.  The Grenfell Fire Department and local farmers assisted RCMP members with rounding up the escaped pigs.  During the investigation east bound traffic was restricted to one lane of travel.  As of 8:00 a.m. both east bound lanes have been re-opened to traffic.

The driver of the semi-tractor livestock trailer unit sustained minor injuries from the collision and was treated on scene by Moosomin EMS.
