Konrad Sohnchen passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 86 years.
Born in Windsor, ON, to Mortz and Margaret Sohnchen, who immigrated from Germany, he was the youngest of three children. Konrad spent his career as a truck driver, beginning in Leamington, ON, and later making Vanscoy, Saskatoon, and Melville, SK, his home. He retired after many years with Kindersley Transport.
In 1988, Konrad met Vikki in Saskatoon, and together they shared over 38 years of love and companionship. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and travelling to Ontario to visit family.
Konrad volunteered locally as a driver for the championship curling bonspiel in Melville and was often present at grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Konrad is remembered by Vikki McKay and an extended family: Brent (Vanessa) Marlee; Darren (Antonia) Chase; Angie, Brooke (Al), Josh (Jade), Erin, Elsie; Todd, Jordan; Donna (Russell) Lacey, Hudson; Bonnie (Dennis) Kayleb, Colby; Gerry, Raymond, Lindsey, Andrew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Dad, Grandpa, and “Big K” will be missed and fondly remembered.
