Mary Elaine Hanlon (nee Porter) of Dysart, SK and recently of Fort Qu’Appelle, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026 at the age of 86 years.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Hanlon; parents, James Ernest and Ruby Alma Porter; sister, Arla Elizabeth; her husband, Henry Giesbrecht and their son, Abram; sister-in-law, Doreen Porter; sister, Amy Margaret Porter; brother, James Harvey Porter; her brother, David Wilfred Porter and his wife, Elsie; and her sister, Ella May Porter.
She is survived by her sister, Eunice Irene and her husband, Alan Weller; sister, Lorna Merle and her husband, Clem Werner and their children, Kendra and Michael; brother, Russel John Porter and his sons, Harley, Howard, Kenneth and Leslie; brother, Francis William (“Frank”) and his wife, Linda and their children, Corey, Danny and David;
Norman Elgin (“Pat”) Porter and his wife, Lyn and their children, Cody and Brendan; Albert (“Bert”) Porter and his wife, Lil; brother, Roy Merve Porter; brother, Lloyd Andrew Porter and his wife, June and their children, Krysta and Travis, as well as her nephew, John Giesbrecht.
Mary made a career of helping others. Mary worked in personal care homes and cared for her mother, until her passing.
Mary served her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ by travelling to the east in Canada and south of the border with Stonecroft Ministries.
Mary married Gerry Hanlon in 1980 and they ran the motel in Morse, SK. They later moved to Lebret and Dysart, SK. After Gerry’s passing Mary lived in care homes in the Fort Qu’Appelle area until her passing in Echo Lodge.
Mary was loved by all those who knew her. She will be sorely missed.
