Mildred (Midge) Pearl Walden passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on Aug. 11, 1934, on the family farm north of Melville, SK, Midge was a woman of deep faith, community, and family. She attended St. Henry’s School in Melville and went on to work in various secretarial roles throughout her early career, including positions at a pharmacy, a law office, and a church office. Later in life, Mildred devoted herself fully to her family, her church, and her community becoming a full-time homemaker and a committed member of the Catholic Women’s League, where she volunteered generously of her time and talents.
In 2006, Midge and Elmer moved to Saskatoon, and in 2016, Midge moved into a beautiful assisted-living facility in Warman after Elmer passed in 2016. The staff at the Diamond House took incredible care of Midge, and we thank them immensely for their care and efforts.
Midge was predeceased by her beloved son, Scott Walden; her husband, Elmer Walden; her parents, Adam and Agnes Wassil; her brother, James Wassil; and her sisters, Violet (Palmer) Berg, Genevieve (William) Adams, Marvel Wassil, and Alice Bannister. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Glenn (Shelley) Walden and Grant (Rhonda) Walden; her grandchildren, Kyle Walden, Stephanie (Garrett) Vogelaar, and Sarah Kendry; and her great-grandchildren, Scarlet Rideout, Bronson Vogelaar, and Oriana Vogelaar. She also leaves behind many other relatives and dear friends who will miss her.
Mildred’s legacy is one of faith and family. She will be missed.
