Marjory Jessie Jordens passed away early on the morning of Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at the Whitewood Community Health Centre.
Marjory (Marj or Marje) was born July 21, 1924, in the St. Hubert district to Arthur and Jessie (nee Hill) Jordens.
On July 21, 2024, always following Aunt Marj’s wishes, she quietly celebrated her 100th birthday with her two nieces, one nephew and their spouses at the CanAm Restaurant in Whitewood, SK. It was a very enjoyable birthday for her because she and her sister Joan had spent many happy hours there over the years.
In October 2019, Aunt Marj entered the Wawota Memorial Health Centre where she resided until Jan. 14, 2021. On Jan.15, 2021, she returned to the Whitewood Community Health Centre where she remained until her passing.
Marjory worked from a young age at a variety of jobs in Whitewood. In May 1949, she began her career with the Bank of Montreal where she remained for 30 years as a teller, retiring in 1979.
Marjory was predeceased by an infant sister, Patricia; parents Arthur and Jessie Jordens; her brother and his wife, Wilfred and Irene Jordens; her sister, Joan Jordens; uncles, aunts and cousins.
Aunt Marjory leaves to mourn her passing two nieces, Judith Raiwet (George) and family, Karen Kolman (Allen) and family; two nephews, Donald Jordens (Gail) and family, David Jordens (Lori) and family; cousins and acquaintances.
Following Aunt Marjory’s instructions, a graveside service will be arranged at a later, warmer time at the Whitewood Cemetery, open to anyone wishing to attend when a date has been chosen.
