Margaret Stratton was born in the Kipling District, SK., the only daughter to Frank and Annie Meszaros. She married Ronald Stratton on June 3, 1950 and they farmed in the Armentieres District, northwest of Whitewood. There they raised a daughter Diane and son Gordon. In 1981 they moved into Whitewood.
Margaret enjoyed doing most needlework, especially crocheting and enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She also liked playing cards with her many friends and in her later years playing bingo. Margaret had a great love of music and could play be ear.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Annie Meszaros; her husband Ronald; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Emily Meszaros, Steve and Kristine Meszaros and Bill Meszaros; her brother-in-law Gerald Stratton. She is survived by her daughter Diane (Gary) Karlunchuk, their children Blair (Jennifer) and Derek (Abby); her son Gordon (Barbara) Stratton, their children Melissa (Cody) and Timothy (Kaydee); her great-grandchildren Zane and Reese Karlunchuk, Carson and Kira Karlunchuk, Tye and Trai Bruvold, Baya and Lily Stratton; her sisters-in-law Helen Stratton and Ila Meszaros; as well as numerous other relatives from her and Ronald’s families.
Following Margaret’s wishes, her family is planning a graveside service in the spring. They would like to thank the staff at the Whitewood Community Health Centre for the excellent care she received there and donations in her memory can be made to the Centre.
