Alex BoutinAlexandre Maurice Boutin was born July 4, 1929  to Maurice and Armendine (Jeannot) Boutin on the family farm located one mile south of St. Hubert.  Alex had two major loves in his life: his wife Pearl Doreen and farming.  Alex and Doreen were married July 12, 1954 and from this union came five sons, Allen, Lawrence, Paul, Harvey and Bernard.  Alex took great pride in what they achieved over the years farming, the good cattle herd they raised over the years and the crops they had grown to expand the farm.  Alex enjoyed farming with his older brother Hubert and his sons Allen, Paul and Harvey.

Alex passed away March 15, 2013 at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Armendine (Jeannot) Boutin; his wife Doreen (Appleton) in 2003; Sisters, Theresa (Jerry) de Laforest, Rachelle Boutin and Helen (Louis) Dureault; brothers Hubert Boutin and Paul Boutin.  He leaves to cherish his memory: five sons: Allen (Sandra), Lawrence (Lucille), Paul (Teena), Harvey (Shelly) and Bernard (Maria); 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a brother John (Agnes), a sister Anita (Leo) Dureault and a brother-in- law Fred (Carol) Appleton.

A vigil service was held March 22, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Whitewood with the Rev. Fr. Rene Mangahas presiding.  Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 23, 2013 with the Rev. Fr. Rene Mangahas as the celebrant.  Ernie Veresh and the choir led in the singing of the hymns.  Lawrence Boutin shared memories of his father.  The gift bearers were Mathew and Trisha Boutin.   All of Alex’s friends were considered honorary pallbearers.   Bernard Boutin served as urn bearer.  Interment will take place in St. Hubert’s Cemetery at a later date.
