With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas A. Stevenson, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Whitewood, SK, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 71.
Doug was born on May 8, 1954, in Whitewood to Donald and Phyllis Stevenson. He was the third of five children, alongside Darlene, Leslie, Elizabeth, and Donalda. Doug spent his entire life in the Whitewood area, where he built a life grounded in hard work, deep
family ties, and a strong sense of community.
Doug found great joy in simple pleasures and in bringing happiness to others. He loved harnessing up his team of horses and heading into town to offer sleigh rides to anyone who wished to join, creating lasting memories for many. Doug also valued his time working at the Can-Am and NAPA, where he was known not only for his dedication but for his quick wit and his ability to make others laugh.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Doug will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his deep connection to the land he farmed and the horses he loved.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Phyllis Stevenson; his sister, Darlene Coomber; and his grandson, Rylan Buium. He will forever be cherished by his wife, Peggy; his son, Mart; and his two daughters, Julie (Brent) Buium and their children, Easton and Khyla, and Macey (Kyle) Raiwet and their children, Kolt, Bentley, and Ivy. He will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held in April.
