Family of the late Terence (Terry) Gattinger, of Red Lake, ON, announce his sudden passing Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 at the age of 72.
Terence Leopold Gattinger was born at Neudorf, SK on June 12, 1953, the second son of parents Harry and Eleonore Gattinger.
He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church and attended Roadside Country School, completing his schooling at Neudorf.
Following this he gained employment at various jobs which eventually took him to Manitoba where he worked at Snow Lake and Ear Falls and his final place of Red Lake, ON. While residing at Red Lake he suffered a stroke, which eventually required him to be a resident at the Northwood Lodge in Red Lake.
Terry enjoyed watching sports of any kind – especially the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Sask Roughriders. Golf was another sport he enjoyed and was good at, as noted by the Hole-In-One he got at the Saskatoon Holiday Park Golf Course. Terry also played an important role in the school and town safe crosswalk program at Red Lake; and he was also able to attend many family celebrations in Neudorf over the years.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Peter and Mary Gattinger and Gustav and Euphrosine Monseler; his dad Harry; niece Kimberley; cousins Calvin and Dean; and uncles and aunts on both sides of the family.
Surviving family include: his Mom, Eleonore; brothers, Rodney (Laurell), Craig (Deb) and James (Janet); sister, Pat (Darrel); nephews and nieces, Curtis, Tanya, Candace, Lisa, Ryan, Jared and Colin; great-nephews and nieces and many cousins.
A private graveside burial will take place at Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Neudorf, SK.
In care of arrangements are Matthews Funeral Home, Melville and the Red Lake Funeral Chapel in Ontario.
