On Dec. 6, 2025, Betty passed away at the age of 80 years with her daughters by her side, following a tough battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Crossman; husband Alvin Snider; brother Harry Crossman; sister Reta Crossman; sister-in-law Margaret Crossman; sister-in-law Elaine Crossman; sister-in-law Violet Lucyk; and brother-in-law Lawrence Snider.
Betty is survived by her children: Cathy Youck and Charlene (Kevin) Stephens; four grandchildren, Samuel and Jonathan Youck, Jacob and Jordan Stephens; brother Lloyd Crossman; brother-in-law Mervin (Myrna) Snider; sister-in-law Hazel Snider; sister-in-law Delores (Jim) Goldstone; and brother-in-law Dwight (Gladys) Snider; many nieces and nephews; and an abundance of great friends.
Betty was raised on a farm near Balcarres. After graduation, she attended business college in Regina, where she and Alvin married and raised their two daughters. She worked in retail pharmacy, the Wascana Rehab Centre pharmacy, and a doctor’s office for many years. They moved to Balcarres in 1997. She then worked at Echo Lodge in Fort Qu’Appelle and the Balcarres Integrated Care Centre.
Mom had many good friends with whom she enjoyed road trips, lunches and afternoon coffee. They were a very important part of her life.
Above all, Mom’s greatest joy was found in the love of her family. They shared a bond like no other.
Betty will be remembered for her kind soul with the biggest heart. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all that knew her.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
