We say goodbye to a kind, honest man who lived a life full of precious and very meaningful friendships. A man known as husband, dad, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, lifelong friend, one of ‘The Guys’, and Captain Peake.
Throughout his working career he held various positions in finance and customer service with the Government of Saskatchewan and the Government of Canada. Bill contributed a lifetime of community service, which included many years with the Downtowners Optimist Club of Regina and as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces in the Air Cadet Program of Canada, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion.
He served as Captain in Air Cadets for Regina 703 Squadron and Indian Head 691 Hawk Squadron. He loved being involved with the program for over 25 years and truly enjoyed working with so many wonderful young people. Being an avid military history enthusiast, a very meaningful experience was a trip through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France visiting sites of military significance with senior cadets from the 691 Squadron. Bill received many honours and awards for significant service including: the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD), Saskatchewan Centennial Medal for significant community contributions, Royal Canadian Legion Canadian 150th Anniversary medal, and the Royal Canadian Legion Anniversary 90th medal.
Bill and Donna had many terrific adventures and celebrations with his large extended family who adored him. He delighted in the many trips to the Rockies and travelling to interesting places in our world.
Bill was born, raised and educated in Regina. He was predeceased by his parents John “Jack” and Betty; and his sister Janice.
Bill will be greatly missed by his loyal and caring wife of 35 years, Donna; cherished daughter Kathryn; his devoted and supportive twin brother Bart; sister-in-law Gail; as well as a large extended family of nephews, nieces and cousins who adored him. We all have special memories of Bill which are tucked in our hearts until we meet again.
The family extends sincere appreciation for the outstanding care and service from the entire teams at the Critical Care Unit at Regina General Hospital and the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
An event of remembrance will be held at a later date and a notification will be published.
