Marguerite Jean Loewen passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre Long Term Care in Moosomin, SK, in the early hours of Friday, May 9, 2025, with family by her side.
Jean was the oldest child of Robert and Margaret Roney, and she had six siblings whom she loved dearly.
Jean was predeceased by daughter Caren Hanna; first husband Clifford Hanna and second husband Cornelius Loewen; grandson Ryan Vilness; great-grandson Cailen Vilness; sisters Beth Crawford, Marjorie Larson and Eileen Van Damme; brothers Allan Roney, Clifford Roney and Barry Roney; sisters-in-law Lois Roney, Eileen Mooney, Kay Stratton and Olga Hanna; and brothers-in-law Vernon Stratton, Ed Mooney and Gordon Hanna.
Left to mourn her passing are daughters Trudy (Kim) Vilness, Donna (Mark) Hammerquist, Sandra (Bruce) Restau and Shiela Hanna (Shane Vennard); sons Dean (Faye) Hanna and Wayne (Shari) Hanna; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was so proud of her family and just loved when as many of them could gather to celebrate her. She always had a helping hand for anyone in need, and she radiated
happiness through her smile. Jean loved to dance and enjoyed the Saturday Night Dance Party on television and especially loved to dance with her daughter Donna at the end of
every visit.
Jean will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and her new family at the Moosomin Long Term Care.
Memorial donations may be made to the SEICC Long Term Care Recreation Department.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood and Melville.
