HYATT – Eileen Jeanette was born May 10, 1939, in St. John, NB, to Arthur and Beatrice Calhoun (Bellding) and passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at the age of 78 years.
Eileen led a full life as a military wife, mother, postmaster and writer. She lived all across Canada with her beginnings as a Maritimer, then settled on the Prairies. She was so loved and will be missed by many.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Randall.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her children, Calhoun B.R. Hyatt, Bradley Hyatt, Cheryl (Holland) Tolkien, Cindy (Paul) Cerniuk and Julie (Richard) Armbruster; grandchildren, Lee (Crystal) Hyatt, Ken (Ash) Hyatt, Evan Hyatt, Rose Cerniuk, Diana Cerniuk, Chelsea Lowe and Calab Armbruster.
Eileen’s funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Matthews Funeral Home, Melville, with Brenda Zelko officiating. Paul Cerniuk presented the eulogy, and Eileen’s daughters and several friends offered words of remembrance. A number of of Eileen’s favourite songs were played as a special tribute.
