Agnes Giroux of Whitewood passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the age of 91 years. Marie Agnes Helen was born January 10, 1923 in Ponteix, SK to Joseph and Glorizia Deschenes. Agnes was predeceased by her mother and father, her three sisters and seven brothers, her first husband Alfred Clavelle, their son George, her second husband Arthur Giroux and their daughter Doris Young, as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She leaves to mourn her passing: sister Marjolaine Wenman, brother-in-law Bert Giroux (Barb), sister-in-law Rita Beauchesne, daughters Helene Giroux and Aline Gordon (Gene), sons Raymond (Elizabeth) and Robert (Diane), son-in-law Gordon Young, grandchildren Jay Young, Amber Holder (Jason), Austin Gordon (Cheryl), Dallas Giroux (Mario), Jordan Giroux (Robin),Tessa Giroux (Sarah), Laura Esslinger (Dave), Alyssa Giroux, Kalyn Giroux, four great-grandchildren Harley Young, Freedom and Jake Esslinger and Ryker Giroux, and numerous nieces and nephews. A vigil service was held Thursday, November 20, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Whitewood with Debbie Schenstead presiding. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, November 21, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Church with the Rev. Fr. Valentine Amobi celebrating. Interment followed in the Whitewood Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood.
