Taylor, GeraldineIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the age of 78. Gerry will be forever remembered by her surviving children, Gail (Dennis) Parent, Patty (Grant) Wright and Heather (Barry) Gaber; and grandchildren, Gerry Smith, Gail Fridfinnson, Douglas and Tara Redeker, Billy and Lyndon Wright, Shasta, Natasha, Tyler and Tristan Gaber. Also left to cherish her memory is her brother Barry (Ruth) Dewar; sisters, Bev Tait, Lynne (Jack) Keam and Lois Weisz; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended families and special friends. Rose Ell was an extra special friend spending many “coffee breaks” visiting with Gerry at her home. Gerry was predeceased by her parents, Angus and Mabel Dewar; husband William Taylor; sons, Brian and Bruce Taylor; grandchildren, Danny Parent and Heather Patricia Taylor; sister-in-law Josephine Dewar; and brothers-in-law, Gerald Tait and Frank Weisz. Gerry was born in Winnipeg, MB and often said, “I was born and raised in the city but grew up on the farm.” It was on the farm south of Whitewood she became a farmer’s wife and mother of five children. Gerry and Bill stayed there until 1972 before moving to Winnipeg for a few years. Prairie life called them back to the Town of Whitewood, SK where they spent the rest of their time together.  She had great love for her family and friends, she is loved dearly and will be missed daily. Special thanks to the staff responsible for Gerry’s care at the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital for their kindness and compassion during her stay.  At Gerry’s request there will be no funeral service. A Graveside Burial and Memorial will take place at Whitewood, SK in July, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerry’s name, to Regina Palliative Care Inc. 700B – 4400 – 4th Avenue, Regina SK. S4T 0H8.
