Date of Birth: October 8, 1953
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wayde Allan Morley,
born Oct. 8, 1953, in Yorkton, SK.
Wayde will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Morley, whom he married on Oct. 12, 1974. They first met at the Corona Motor Hotel in Yorkton, where Wayde’s dance moves won Shirley’s heart.
He was a proud father to Jamie Morley (Christopher Triggs) and Chase Morley (Cassidy Morley), and a cherished grandfather to Mack Morley, who lovingly called him “Pappa.”Wayde had a lifelong love of the outdoors, spending his younger years at Parr Hill Lake and later enjoying hunting, fishing, and time on the family farm, known as “Morley’s Horny Ranch.” He was an avid storyteller, always eager to share hunting stories – especially tales of the latest big buck. He also spent many years playing hockey, including with the Miller’s team, where he formed lasting friendships on and off the ice.
In retirement, Wayde took pride in his yard on Canwood Crescent, built strong connections with neighbours, and kept busy with his “full-time job” of neighbourhood snow
removal. He especially treasured time spent with his grandson Mack, including trips to Saskatoon and visits to Cabela’s.
Wayde was predeceased by his parents Allan and Edith Morley, siblings Deborah Cumming and Clinton Morley, and his in-laws John and Mary Holowatuk.
He leaves to mourn his passing his siblings and many extended family members and friends.
Wayde will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his love of family, the outdoors, his storytelling and sense of humour.
A Celebration of Wayde’s life was held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Terry Greene, Certified Celebrant officiating. The eulogy was delivered by Jamie and Chase. The honorary urn bearers were the Millers Hockey Team. The interment followed in the Garden of Gethsemane, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Christopher Triggs, Cassidy Morley and Mack Morley serving as urn bearers. Memorials in memory of Wayde may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation as gifts of remembrance.
