Members of the Whitewood Fire Department recently visited Whitewood School where they spoke to students in grades 10-12 about becoming a junior firefighter. During the presentation, students such as Shaya Istace got to try on firefighter gear. Many local area fire departments such as Whtiewood have created junior firefighter programs to help fill vacancies as well as to provide education and experience to students.
