Stan was born on Oct. 7, 1959 in Esterhazy, Sask. to Gordon and Shirley Wickberg. Growing up on the farm, he was the third of seven children. Following high school, Stan went off to the oil patch in Alberta. He eventually settled in the Homeglen District where he farmed, raised his family, and operated several successful businesses. Stan had five daughters, two with his first wife, and three with the love of his life, Yvonne “Bonnie” MacTavish.
Stan is survived by his wife Bonnie; children, Nicole Wickberg; April (Jamie) McDonald and their children, Maria, Laura and Luke; Sarah Adcock and her children, Amelia and Natalie; Tina (James) Dykstra and their children, Payton, Jocelyn and Erin; Karin (Adam) Richardson and their children, Mackenzie, Serena, Stanley and Maverick. He is also survived by his mother Shirley Wickberg; his brother and sisters, Lynn Heikkila (Alvin Nixon), Don (Pamela) Wickberg, Diane (Don) Raeburn, Dorothy (Perry) Dunn, Susan (Karl) Kryger and Louise (Rich) Middleton; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and close friends. Stan was predeceased by his father Gordon Wickberg; and his brother-in-law Ronald Bresch.
Stan left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him and leaves behind a void that can never be filled.
A funeral service in Celebration of Stan’s Life was held in, Rimbey, Alta. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.
