Day of the Dead - An altar, or ofrenda, could be seen in the Grotto last week in celebration of the Day of the Dead. Offerings of bread, drink, and fruit were accompanied by sugar skulls and skeletal La Catrina figures. Cecilia Zimmerman, owner of the Grotto, says she likes to share not just her food, but traditions from her culture with the public. Day of the Dead was celebrated November 1 and 2.
