RCMPOn Monday, December 8, 2014, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Weyburn Police Service received a complaint from a 28-year-old female who was at her residence in a rural area north of Weyburn, Sask. Weyburn Police Service arrived on scene and arrested an adult male. Weyburn RCMP was contacted and began an investigation as the residence is located within Weyburn RCMP jurisdiction.

Initial investigation has revealed that an adult male (DOB: 1979/01/02) entered the complainant’s residence and an altercation took place. A 43-year-old male who was sleeping in the basement of the residence heard yelling. A second altercation took place in the basement of the residence and the 43-year-old male was able to gain control until Weyburn Police Service arrived on scene. The 43-year-old male was transported to Weyburn General Hospital with apparent stab wounds. His condition is unknown at this time.

Dustin Hayes McFadden (DOB: 1979/01/02) of Weyburn is charged with:

· 1 count, attempted murder, section 239(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

· 2 counts, break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

· 1 count, obstruction of a peace officer, section 129(a) of the Criminal Code

· 4 counts, breach of an undertaking, section 145(3) of the Criminal Code

McFadden made his first court appearance on Tuesday, December 09, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
