Irene Sylvia Hoggarth was born in Rosthern April 06, 1945 to parents Tom and Mary Prima.

She attended school in Grenfell where she completed her high school education.

Irene met Gerald Hoggarth June 06, 1964 in Grenfell. Gerald was trying to find his barber, instead he found her. The rest is history. They married May 21, 1966 and settled in Regina where Irene was working at the time at the Medical Arts Clinic.

After living and working in Grenfell for four years they moved back to Regina. Irene then gained employment at the Broadway Medical Clinic where she worked 34 years to retirement.

Beside working, she devoted countless hours volunteering at their parish, performing various duties.

Both Gerald and Irene volunteered at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for 34 years.

Irene was also actively involved with volunteer work at Government House and the Citizens Police Academy.

She loved and lived life to the fullest. Besides spending time with her husband, friends and family, she enjoyed cooking (especially Ukrainian dishes), traveling and gardening. Her garden was always vibrant with many varieties of flowers.

Unfortunately, her time on earth was cut short. She passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the age of 68 years. She left us too soon, but she also left us with many cherished memories, memories that will live on.

Irene was predeceased by her mother, Mary Prima; her sister, Staphie Prima; her father-in-law, Oliver Hoggarth; and a brother-in-law, Larry Hoggarth. She is survived by: her loving husband Gerald; her father Tom Prima of Wolseley, her sister Dorothy (George) Postoluk of Winipeg, MB and their children Troy Postoluk, Tracy Postoluk and Jay Huff; her sister Gladys (Joe) Gandzalas of Saskatoon, SK and their sons Rick (Aneta) Gandzalas  and children Raquel, Jayden, Matthew, and Ivan (Teri) Gandzalas and daughter Brooke; her brother Tom (Cathy) Prima of Saskatoon, SK and their children Tom (Blaire) Prima and son Austin, Frank (Cari) Prima and children Mason and Katelyn; her brother Robert Prima of Iqaluit, NU and sons Bryce (Amanda) and son Caleb, Nevin Prima; her brother Ray (Kathleen) Prima of Saskatoon, SK and children Stephanie and Anthony; her mother-in-law, Vangie Hoggarth of Whitewood, SK; her brother-in-law, Murray (Helen) Hoggarth of Portage La Prairie, MB and children Tom (Jennifer) Hoggarth and children Stacey and Murray, Janice (Marcel) Ducharme and sons Matt, Cameron, Justin, Bob (Leslie), Christina (Sean) Flanagan and children Aeryn, Keira and Liam; niece Lenora (David) Griemann and daughters Madison and Cassidy; nephew Michael Hoggarth (Candice) and his children Nicholas and Shayna.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at Little Flower Catholic Church in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Jose Periyilkatte presiding. Service participants were Cathy Prima, 1st reading; Tracy Postoluk, 2nd reading; Rick Gandzalas, Intercessions; Dorothy Postoluk and Gladys Gandzalas, Gift Bearers. Interment was in the Whitewood Cemetery with Ray Prima, Tom Prima, Robert Prima, Joe Gandzalas, George Postoluk and Murray Hoggarth as pallbearers.
