It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father Robert Gordon Howorth on May 28, 2013 in Calgary, AB. Robert was born December 10, 1942 at Wroxton, SK to Peter and Mary (nee Perepeluk) Howorth. Robert grew up on the family farm at Whitewood, SK and after high school moved to Regina to obtain his CA with Clarkson and Gordon. He practised his profession in Regina, Edmonton and Calgary. Besides his accounting profession, Bob farmed at Whitewood from a distance making many a gruelling journey at all times of day and night to plant and harvest his beloved crops.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Lois and precious sons Donald (Grace) and Brian (Natasha); his mother Mary Howorth; his sisters Ethel (Gary) Hughes and Audrey (Darryl) Francis; his brother Lawrence (Sandy) Howorth; a sister-in-law, Agnes (John) Boutin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob has gone to glory to be with his angels Leslie, Pamela, Heather and his father Peter Howorth. A gathering was held at McInnis & Holloway Park Memorial Chapel in Calgary on June 4, 2013. A memorial service was held June 8. 2013 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Whitewood with the Rev. Fr. Rene Mangahas officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Houtman. Words of remembrance were shared by Lawrence Howorth. The organist, Linda Beutler, the church choir and the Pleasant Company Singers led in the singing of the hymns. Interment took place in the Whitewood Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to SPCA.
