Date of Birth: January 24, 1935

Date of Death: October 20, 2026

With great sadness, we the family announce the passing of Eleanor Jean Fedorowich on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, at the age of 91.
Eleanor was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be missed by her loving family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Eleanor will be remembered for her kindness, strength, generosity, and the love she shared with those around her.
Eleanor was born on January 24, 1935, in Theodore, Sask. to Oscar and Cora Nystrom. She grew up on the family farm with her brother and sisters. After she married Lionel Fedorowich they made their home in Yorkton, SK, where they raised their five children and lived their entire lives.
Eleanor’s greatest joy was raising her children. She was happiest when her home was filled with the laughter and conversation with those she loved. The grandchildren brought a new kind of excitement and joy to her life. She was deeply touched earlier this year to meet virtually her first great grandchild, Azariah.
Eleanor found peace and satisfaction in taking care of her flowers, fruit trees, and vegetable garden. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, where family and friends were always welcome. These memories will be treasured forever.
Eleanor is predeceased by her husband Lionel; her parents Oscar and Cora Nystrom; her siblings Edgar Nystrom (wife Lillian) and Shirley Shumay (husband George).
Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her children and their families: Sandra (Cameron) and their children Graham (Madeleine) and Matthew; Barbara (Warren) and their children Jordan (Brent), Kelsey (Jason and their son Azariah), and Arielle (Addison); Angela and her children Rebecca and Elizabeth; Wanda (Tim) and their daughter Kahlan; Ron (Tammy) and their children Paige and Riley.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Bev Nystrom (Bernie). She will be lovingly remembered by Lynne Paquette with whom she was recently reacquainted and shared a special bond. Lynne brought much joy to her life.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in the memories she leaves behind. How lucky we all were and how loved she will always be. She truly was the heart of our family.
May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating. Included in the service were the hymns, Amazing Grace, Songs of The Angels and Morning Has Broken. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Jordan Busse serving as the urn bearer.
Memorials in memory of Eleanor may be made to Paws and Claws Animal Rescue.
