Date of Birth: January 20, 1938

Date of Death: December 30, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of John Yaworski announce his passing on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025 at the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 87 years.
John was born on Jan. 20, 1938 in Ituna to Joe and Katie (Washak) Yaworski. John grew up on the family farm which is where he likely developed his love of restoring old tractors, even from a young age.
After leaving the farm, John resided in Yorkton for many years after which he moved to Lethbridge where he spent the majority of his life. He had various jobs over the years which included Perth’s Drycleaning, Dare Cookies, Canada Post, and hauling with his semi-trailer and gravel trucks. He enjoyed any reason to get out on the road whether it be for work or with his motorhome to go camping. He was a member of the Legion and never missed an opportunity to attend one of the dances where he could socialize with the many friends he made there. At all the dances he attended, whether it be the Legion or elsewhere, a staple was always his cowboy hat, boots, and a colorful western shirt.
Another love he had was frequenting many auctions where he bid on anything and everything he could get a good deal on. At home he could be found watching his favorite sport hockey or a good old fashioned western movie. And he never missed an occasion where he could take his family out for supper and enjoy some visiting.
John was predeceased by his parents Joe and Katie Yaworski; brother Walter Yaworski; sister Rose Hokanson; and brothers-in-law Melvin Hokanson and Frank Chopik.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Cindi (Rob) Weistra of Lethbridge, AB and Laurie Yaworski of Yorkton, SK; his grandchildren: Kayla (Bret) Napper of Lethbridge, AB and Benjamin (Brooke McMurray) Weistra of Hussar, AB; his great-granddaughter Atlee Napper of Lethbridge, AB; his sister Tillie Chopik of Regina, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for John will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026 in Lethbridge. If you wish to leave sympathy messages for the family, you can do so by visiting www.csgfh.ca.
Arrangements for John Yaworski have been entrusted to Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home in Lethbridge, AB.
