Last of their kind Rene Poncelet and Gordon Jones are the last two surviving Whitewood veterans from the Second World War. The pair attended the Remembrance Day service held at the Legion Hall on Nov. 11 where they, along with all other Canadian veterans, were honoured for their service and sacrifices.
