The family of Karl Ludwig Hollinger wishes to announce his passing at 2:40 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville, SK. He was 100 years of age.
Karl was born on the family farm on Feb. 6, 1924, to Jacob and Mary Hollinger. He attended Ulmer School, which was only about a half mile from home.
Karl married Elsie Frick on Oct. 30, 1947; they were married for 76 years. Karl and Elsie moved to the farm by Lemberg and farmed until the mid-1980s when they moved to Melville.
Karl was predeceased by his wife, Elsie; a son in infancy, Shirwin; parents Jacob and Mary Hollinger; brothers and sisters Elizabeth, John, Albert, Katherine, Eleanor, Jacob, Clara and Yvonne. He is survived by his daughter, Dalyce (Dave); and brothers and sisters Ernest, Elroy, Doreen and Elaine.
A private funeral service will be held for Karl, with interment taking place in the Melville City Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
