Date of Birth: January 9, 1932

Date of Death: December 25, 2023

Lillian Geraldine Longpré passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 25, 2023 at the age of 91 in Hill Top Manor, Weyburn, with her daughters by her side.
Lillian was born on the farm near Vibank, SK, second oldest of six children. From a very young age, she worked alongside her Dad on the farm. This was likely the beginning of her love of birds, animals and nature in general. After she was done with school, she and her sister ventured East to Ottawa where she worked for a short time before deciding to return home. Upon her return, she met, fell in love with, then married George Longpré. Together they built a life on the Longpré farm where they practiced mixed farming of grain and cattle, all the while raising their two girls.
Lillian kept very busy with other hobbies during this time. Raising chickens, pigeons, pheasant, quail, Guinea fowl, rabbits, as well as little creatures both furry and feathered, found and brought home to be nurtured long enough to be returned to the wild.
Lillian was very creative and tried her hand at many different crafts throughout her lifetime, perfecting each one. She was a skilled cook and baker creating many delicious, picture perfect recipes. She enjoyed her life on the farm until it was time to scale down the workload and they moved into Qu’Appelle, where they lived until George’s passing in 2015. After seven years, moved on to Sunrise Country Haven and in September 2023 after some health concerns, moved to long term care in Weyburn until her passing.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Odelia Geis; her husband, George; her sister, Philomena; and brothers, Valentine, Roy, Bryce and Kenneth.
She is survived by her daughters, Colette (Richard) Stushnoff of Qu’Appelle and Yvette (Guy) Church of Weyburn and their family Michael (Alexis Grohn) Church (Daemon, Justin, Nya) and Sarah (Dustin) Satre (Kitchener); brother Charles.
At Lillian’s request, a private family interment will be held at a later date in the Qu’Appelle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Lillian may be made to the Indian Head & District Hospital Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 1547, Indian Head, SK S0G 2K0.
