Date of Birth: April 15, 1938

Date of Death: December 14, 2023

It is with much sadness we announce the death of Bertha Matheson (nee Lampard), who passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, in
Calgary, Alta., with the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley always in her heart.
She leaves to mourn: her granddaughter Jordan; grandson Devin; great-grandson Jaxon; brother John; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
Bertha was predeceased by her beautiful and loving daughter, Le-eAnne; husband Don; mother Wilma; father Richard; brothers, Albert and Morris; and sisters, Marie and Alice.
Bertha was born on April 15, 1938, and grew up on farms either in or near the Qu’Appelle Valley. She attended Invercauld country school and later Indian Head High School. Bertha spent her entire working career at SaskTel, Regina, until her retirement. Later, she purchased a home in Fort Qu’Appelle, where she lived until her declining health meant she could no longer live alone. However, this meant she was able to spend her last few years with her much beloved granddaughter Jordan and great-grandson Jaxon, in Calgary.
Bertha was a woman who cherished family above all else and the death of her child, Lee-Anne, had taken a heavy toll on her heart.
Bertha had many interests and hobbies including gardening, sewing, baking, and canning. She is very much remembered, by both family and friends, for her homemade bread and pies, as well as her kindness and generosity. She will be forever missed.
A memorial service will be held later this summer in the Qu’Appelle Valley, time and date to be announced.
