It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ronald William Wiwchar at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023 at the age of 71 years.
Ron will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family: wife Sherry and sons, Blair (Kaye) and Keith; granddaughters, Dawn and Emma; sisters, Rosemarie Thompson and Margaret (Ralph) Woloschuk; nieces and nephews, Heather (Eli) Buzila, Adam (Tracey Theresa) Thompson, Tara Woloschuk and Brandon Woloschuk; great-niece, Alys Buzila and great-nephew, Bennett Thompson.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, William ‘Bill’ and Ottillia ‘Tillie’ (nee Hahn) Wiwchar.
Ron was born May 28, 1951 in Melville, Sask. and he married Sherry (nee Tom) Nov. 16, 1973.
Ron loved to watch Blair and Keith play hockey and baseball while they were growing up. Later, when they were no longer in sports, Ron volunteered for the Saskatoon Blades, Saskatoon Blazers and other SJHL teams.
Ron also enjoyed travelling. He and Sherry travelled to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic several times, Mexico and Hawaii. They also travelled to Wyoming and Ilinois to visit Blair and his family.
The last few years Ron was content to watch his Calgary Flames and Toronto Blue Jays on television.
At Ron’s request, there will be no funeral. A private family celebration of Ron’s life will be held July 22, 2023.
