Date of Birth: April 7, 1930

Date of Death: May 21, 2017

Maj. Willliam F. Pollock passed away peacefully in Chilliwack, B.C. at the age of 87.
Predeceased by his parents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Bill grew up in Grenfell, Sask., the only child and challenge of Fred and Jessie Pollock. He would join the Reserves in the 1940s. This is where he discovered his passion in life that would lead him
into a 30-year career, first in the artillery and later as a helicopter pilot in the Canadian Armed Forces. He would serve in Korea, Germany and the Middle East and places in between.
Along for the adventure was his wife of 60 years, Margaret, and together in tow, they raised three children.
In his 87 years, Bill collected numerous life-long friends from cousins and school mates, to friends and comrades, in his military family.
Bill lovingly leaves his many cherished memories with his wife, Margaret; and his three children, Mark (Brenda), Lynn (Rocky) and Jamie (Marla); as well as several cousins including his close friend and cousin, Janet. Bill was blessed to have known his three grandchildren and his five great- grandchildren.
We would like to extend our many thanks to the Chilliwack General Hospital, 3rd and 4th floor staff, as well as the volunteers and staff of Cascade Hospice for their excellent care of Bill during his stay. Thanks also to Dr. Kroeze and Dr. Chris.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a future date.
“Stand down dear and faithful servant”
