ROGAN, AGNES LAURA GRACE – 1927 – 2016
It is with sadness the family of Agnes Rogan announces her passing on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at the age of 89.
Left to cherish her memory are: Adolph, her loving husband of 66 years; her grandsons, Ian (Nicki Chow) and Eric; and their mother, Margaret.
Agnes grew up on the family farm near Stornoway, Sask. and attended school in Stornoway and later at Yorkton Collegiate. After graduation she worked in Yorkton in office management.
Agnes married Adolph Rogan on Nov. 1, 1950 in Yorkton. Shortly after they were married they moved to Melville. They then became full-time caregivers to their year-old niece, Bonnie. Due to an illness in the family, Bonnie lived with them for the next year and a half.
On July 28, 1958, Agnes and Adolph welcomed their son, David, who was their pride and joy.
Agnes and Adolph were long-time members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where they contributed to the life of the church community. Agnes was a kind-hearted and caring mother and grandmother. She was a talented cook with a passion for baking. A compassionate and selfless person, Agnes was always willing to help others and would often put their needs before her own.
In 2005, Agnes and Adolph moved to Regina to be closer to their son, David, and their beloved grandsons, Ian and Eric. Their new home was at Queen Victoria Estates where Agnes enjoyed volunteering.
Agnes was predeceased by her treasured son, David, on Aug. 5, 2015. She was also predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters: Ron, Ted, Rudy, Fred, Otto, Martin, Lawrence, Freida, Eda, Violet and Ethel.
A celebration of Agnes’ life was held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Ave., Regina on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016. Agnes will be laid to rest in a private family interment at a later date.
