John William Pearson passed away on July 9, 2015 at the age of 89 at the Whitewood Nursing Home. Jack was born on September 3, 1925 in the Armentiers District

After attending school at Armentiers he joined the Regina Rifles Regiment and served overseas in World War II. When he returned from the war, he met and married Alma Edith McMain, the local school teacher. In 1950, their son Douglas John was born and in 1954 Gwendolyn Marie was born.

They lived and farmed in the Armentiers District until 1959 when they moved to a farm closer to Whitewood. He worked full-time for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 13 years.

When he retired from the Pool, he became a regular at coffee time at the Can Am. He enjoyed visiting with everyone and discussing numerous topics. People could set their watches for the routine Jack had for going for coffee, both in the morning and the afternoon.

Jack was a farmer at heart but when he turned 84, he thought it was time to call it quits for farming.

Because of health issues, Jack left the farm in April 2014. He became a resident of the Broadview Nursing Home and in November 2014, he transferred to the Whitewood Nursing Home. John was predeceased by his parents William and Ethel, his wife Alma, his sister Betty and brother-in-law Frank. He is survived by his son Douglas, and his children, Terry (Lucy), Travis, Kevin (Sherry) and Crystal (Arron) and their families, Pelican Narrows, SK. and his daughter Gwen (Tony) and their children Johnathon (Erin), Gray, SK. and David, Whitewood, SK. and his brother Ted (Francis).
