HUDY – William Hudy of Melville, Sask., passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at the age of 86 years.
Bill was born Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1928 in Melville. On Oct. 10, 1955 he married Bernice Morhart, and they were blessed with two daughters, Beverly and Bonnie.
Bill started working at Swifts, then Western Produce. He then moved to the CN, and in 1989 retired after 25 years due to health issues.
Bill enjoyed watching all sports on television, was a Mils hockey fan, a talented bowler, enjoyed playing bingo and could often be found fishing at the Melville dam He loved to reminisce, and we will all miss his stories.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Lena (nee Ostafichuk) Hudy; his brother and sister in infancy; his sisters, Mary and Ann; and his brother, Steve.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; his daughters, Beverly (Trent), Bonnie (Carl); his grandchildren: Terry (Jill), Monte (Coralie) and Loni (Phil); his great-grandchildren: Parker, Colby, Toccara and Miley; and a brother. Terry.
A private graveside service was held in the Melville City Cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015
with the Rev. Susan Griffith presiding. Loni Schick was the honorary pallbearer and the active pallbearers were Trent Earis, Terry Schick, Monte Schick, Colby Schick, Richard Schmidt and Rick Schmidt.
Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
