Benjamin “Ben” Moise Victor Gerard was born at St. Hubert, Saskatchewan on December 28, 1933 to Marius and Helen (nee Praugh) Gerard. He spent most of his life farming in Saskatchewan and working as a labourer and has resided in Regina since the early 1980’s. Predeceased by his parents and two siblings, Gus Gerard and Alma Cope, Ben is survived by his children Jacqueline Anne White (Greg White), Gregory Allan Gerard and Myrna Lynn Gerard-Jensen; his grandchildren Amanda Louise White, Kale Ethan White, Travis James Jensen and Shawn
Allan Jensen; his siblings Fred Gerard of Lethbridge, Alberta and Oliver Gerard of Warner, Alberta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. The funeral service was held June 19, 2014 at Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood with the Rev. Fr. Rene Mangahas officiating. Eddie Gerard gave the eulogy and Ben’s children, Greg Gerard and Myrna Gerard-Jensen, shared memories on behalf of the family. Interment followed in the Whitewood Cemetery, with Travis Gerard, Justin Gerard, Patrick Gerard, Bernard Gerard, Travis
Jensen and Shawn Jensen acting as pallbearers. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood.
