Florence Styrvoky, of Whitewood, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the age of 91years. Florence was born May 7, 1922, to James and Helga Knourek. She had three brothers and two sisters. She met and married Charlie Oslund in 1939, and they had two girls and three boys, Violet,

Styrvoky, FlorenceEileen, Harvey, Glen, and Arthur. Florence was a hardworking woman and ran a farm which included milking cows, raising chickens, geese, ducks and rabbits. She always had several gardens a year and somehow also found time to sew clothing. Charlie passed away in 1956. A few years later, she met and married Stanley Styrvoky in 1959 and moved to his farm. They had a daughter, Joyce. She enjoyed life, loving life on the farm. Florence and Stanley retired and moved to Whitewood where

Stanley passed away in January 1995. Florence moved to the care home in 2009 until her passing. She

was predeceased by her parents and siblings Edmond, Yalmer, Ruby and Margery. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren and even a few great-

great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood, with Pastor David Hepburn officiating. The organist, Gaylene Matthews, led in the hymns, “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art”. The eulogy was presented by granddaughter Laura Nechvatal.

All who knew and loved Florence were considered honorary pallbearers, and the urn bearer was her son-in-law Keith Park.  Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood.
