Westcott, BlaineBlaine of Cranbrook, B.C. and formerly of Whitewood, Saskatchewan died March 17 following a year long struggle with cancer.  He was predeceased by his father Leonard and his sisters Patricia Picciano and Colleen Westcott.  Left to mourn his death are his mother Doreen Westcott, his son Christopher (Carol) and their three children; Abby, Shyanne and Brooklyn, his brother Ross and his two children; Cameron and Suzanne, Ross’s wife Jennifer and their children; Kate and Jack as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and many friends.

Blaine grew up in Whitewood taking his schooling there as well as in Moose Jaw at the Technical School and at Lethbridge College.  He played hockey with the Orioles and baseball wherever and whenever the opportunity arose.  He worked in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and North West Territories finally going into business with his brother Ross in Cranbrook, B.C. where he resided until his death.  He loved to travel, read books and play golf, going a round or two with his Dad whenever possible.  He was a gifted poet and story writer belonging to a Writers Guild in Cranbrook.  He was in the process of compiling his poetry in book form for publishing.  Blaine had a love for flying and planes and he was a quiet, generous person who made friends easily which endeared him to those who knew him.  In keeping with his wishes there will be no funeral.  Following cremation his ashes will be interred in Whitewood at a later date.
